Types of Membership

There are currently three different types of membership still open to companies wishing to join the Wholesale Applications Community. The category of membership dictates a company or organisation’s benefits and the level of participation in WAC’s on-going activities and strategy. A summary of the different levels of membership and associated benefits are listed below.

 
Operator Member
An ‘Operator member’ is able to participate in the various WAC Advisory Councils, integrate directly with the WAC content repository and advise the WAC management team on future strategy, technology roadmap and specifications for WAC.
 
This level of membership is open to mobile network operators only.
 
Sponsor Member
Open to non-operators, such as handset vendors, device manufacturers and system integrators, ‘Sponsor members’ can participate in the WAC Advisory Councils, integrate with the WAC content repository and advise the WAC management team on future strategy, technology roadmap and specifications for WAC.
 
Associate Member
Associate membership is open to non-operators, manufacturers and integrators. An ‘Associate member’ is able to participate in the WAC Advisory Councils and advise the WAC management team on the future strategy, technology roadmap and specifications for WAC.
